Located just south of downtown Omaha, NE is the quaint, historic neighborhood of Dahlman.
Dahlam was the very first neighborhood platted in Omaha in the 1850’s and thus is one of the oldest communities in the city. Named after eight-term mayor of Omaha, James Dahlman, the area boasts beautiful homes, a lively community and incredible nearby attractions. The neighborhood’s close proximity to downtown and the Old Market makes it a very popular destination for both families and younger adults.
Homes in the Dahlman area vary in size, style and price, however you will find many affordable homesites making it a desirable area for many first time home buyers. The Dahlman Neighborhood Association puts a great emphasis on unity and pride within the neighborhood and continues to promote growth and revitalization of the community.
Dahlman is home to several landmarks in the area including Omaha Botanical Gardens and the Bohemian Cafe, as well as Sokol Auditorium and the Prague Hotel which are both listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Grace University, Dietz United Methodist Church and St. Frances Cabrini Church are also in the area. Lastly, Dahlman Park is located off Pine Street and offers basketball courts, horseshoe pits, walking paths and tennis courts.
