Historic Benson is just 5 miles from downtown Omaha. Benson's green spaces, historic buildings, and cultural diversity give it a welcoming small-town-type vibe right in the city. Also, Benson's central location makes it a perfect place for commuters who want a small-town vibe but need to get to work downtown. It's so easy to get in and out of Benson, using Maple Street (Benson main street), which runs east to west across Omaha. One of the annual neighborhood events kids love is "Cops and Bobbers," a fun event where kids come together with law enforcement officers to learn to fish. Also, from the end of November to the beginning of December, a fun holiday-themed market opens.
